  • NAMI Sheridan does not provide individual counseling, therapy, or psychiatric care. However, we offer several types of free mental health support. 

    Our peer support groups are led by trained individuals with lived experience, while our therapeutic support groups are facilitated by local licensed clinicians and focus on specific mental health needs and topics.

    We also offer educational programs throughout the year, including our spring and fall/winter education and workshop series, community presentations, and workplace talks.

    For people who need professional mental health care, NAMI Sheridan maintains a Community Resource Guide with information about local clinicians, treatment providers, and other services.

  • NAMI Sheridan maintains a Mental Health Emergency Fund in partnership with local providers to help address urgent mental health needs when financial barriers might otherwise prevent someone from receiving stabilization care.

    The fund is not a replacement for emergency or crisis services and is accessed through participating local partners.

  • Yes. NAMI Sheridan offers free mental health support groups in Sheridan, including peer-led groups facilitated by people with lived experience and therapeutic groups facilitated by local clinicians.  Groups vary throughout the year based on community needs.

  • Yes. While not every NAMI Sheridan program is designed specifically for youth, we can help young people and their families find appropriate mental health resources in Sheridan County.

    NAMI Sheridan also offers community education, workshops, and programs that address topics affecting youth, young adults, parents, and caregivers.

  • NAMI Sheridan's programs, support groups, workshops, and educational events are offered free of charge. Our goal is to remove financial barriers to mental health education and support for people in Sheridan County.

    We also maintain a Mental Health Emergency Fund through local partners to help with certain urgent stabilization needs when funding is available.

  • You do not need insurance or a doctor's referral to participate in NAMI Sheridan's free support groups, educational programs, or community workshops.

    Some groups may require advance registration or have specific participation guidelines, so check the individual program or event listing before attending.

  • There are many ways to get involved with NAMI Sheridan! Volunteers can help with community events, outreach, educational programs, NAMIWalks Sheridan, committees, fundraising, and other activities.

    People with lived experience of mental health conditions—as individuals, family members, caregivers, or supporters—can also explore opportunities to become trained NAMI program facilitators.

  • NAMI Sheridan Wyoming is located at 1 S. Tschirgi St., Sheridan, WY 82801. Please note that this location primarily serves as our administrative and storage space and is not regularly staffed or open for drop-in visits.
